Ordered a washer and dryer Friday. Was told it would be delivered this weekend. Was told I would be called Saturday to arrange delivery time for Sunday. Saturday came, no call. Called twice today and was told it couldn't be delivered. Due to my work schedule I am not available until Thursday. Don't tell customers spending almost 2K that something can be done if it can't. I've rearranged my weekend and it's like no one cares. What a joke. Giving them another 2 hours then taking my purchase elsewhere.
I have shopped at this Lowes over the last three years and I cannot remember ever having a bad experience personally. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and always willing to help their customers. I make Lowes my first stop for all of my home improvement needs for this reason.
A few weeks I got the bright idea to try and do this price matching that I'm always seeing on tv. I live in Georgia. I was very nervous and honestly didn't think it would work anyways but thought it was worth a try. What I wanted was an item that I had seen on sale at a lowes a few hours from my home, it was too large to fit in my car when I saw it and I figured I could get it at home once I had my husbands truck. Before I made the 45 min drive with my 5 month old to the store near my house I called, asked to speak with a manager and to find out if they had the item in stock and if they priced matched. The manager told me that they had 2 in stock and that they did price match. I asked her if there was anything I needed to know about price matching before I drove over there since I had never done it before. She told me that as long as the difference in price between the two wasn't over 200.00 I could do it! I was so excited! The price difference was about 75.00 so I was pretty confident at this point. I went into the store and had the same conversation with the same woman in person, walked over to the item and asked for help taking it up front. Once they got it up front the same woman told me I couldn't get it at the price that the other store had it marked for, when I repeated to her what she had told me 10 min earlier she went on to say that she was giving an example. I then asked what the exact rules for price matching was at this point because I was extremely confused... she told me I would have to speak to her manager (I was told she was the manager so at this point she is making me feel pretty nervous and like I'm doing something wrong) a few minutes later he shows up, tells me he will not price match. Cut and dry. I tried to keep this as short as possible but what I'm trying to say is that these big businesses can just say and do whatever they want and get away with it. Its not right to advertise one thing and then make someone feel like an inconvenience for trying to do what you told them to. I have not been back since then and will choose any other store over them because of this.
